Dangerous Comparisons: Historical Pandemics and COVID-19

July 16 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm CEST

Free

Merle Eisenberg will give the next talk in the De Gruyter Corona Talks series. He “will speak with us about the danger of comparing one pandemic with another. Merle Eisenberg is a historian of the early middle ages and historical pandemics and postdoctoral fellow at the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) at the University of Maryland. He will talk about dangerous comparisons between Covid-19 and historical pandemics and how history does not offer global comparisons, but rather examples of local responses and effects.”

The event will be streamed on youtube, and available there afterwards.
